I've always been fascinated with the media so decided to kick off my professional life by studying Journalism at the University of Sheffield (1st Class BA Hons: 2003-2006). It was a fantastic course, teaching me countless practical skills; from how to write the perfect press release, court reporting and short-hand, to presenting broadcast and radio news bulletins, magazine journalism and media law.
My first job fresh out of university was in public relations, managing PR for healthcare technology brands. I continued to develop my PR skills throughout my 20s, working at a creative agency and then a PR agency that specialised in travel. It was at the travel PR agency, where I worked as a Senior Account Manager and Head of Social Media, that I really started to recognise the importance of social media marketing.
I decided to develop my social media skills by working at a social media marketing agency in Chicago for 18 months. I learnt so much there, including how to use social media to generate sales for clients.
I set up my own London-based business in July 2015 and haven't looked back since. I currently manage social media channels for predominantly travel clients but have experience working with businesses across many sectors. I help clients with social media training, online influencer/blogger outreach and copy writing too.
Away from work, I'm passionate about seeing as much of the world as possible, drinking good quality coffee, yoga, reading and spending time with the people that I love, including my two young sons.
